Ward — Privacy Policy

Ward is the parent companion app for schools that use the Edu.Khione school platform. This policy explains what information Ward handles, why, and your choices. Ward is provided by Anmar Tech (“we”, “us”). Your child’s school is the data controller of the records shown in Ward; we process that information on the school’s behalf to bring it to you.
Information we handle

| Basic technical data | Standard app/server logs (e.g. request time, error diagnostics) used to keep the service working and secure. |
Ward does not use advertising identifiers, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not sell your information.
How you sign in
Ward has no username or password. You connect using a private, secure link (containing a long random code) that your school shares with you. Keep this link private — anyone with it can view your family’s information. Your school can revoke or reissue it at any time.
How we use the information
- To show you your child’s results, attendance, fees and school updates.
- To let you message the school and receive replies and notifications.
- To process school-fee payments and issue receipts.
- To keep the service reliable, secure and to prevent misuse.
Who we share it with
We share information only with your child’s school and with the service providers that make Ward work:
- Paystack — processes card / bank transfer / USSD payments.
- Supabase — secure database hosting for the school’s records.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Termii — sends SMS notifications (when your school enables them).
These providers act on our/the school’s instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. Payments are governed by Paystack’s own privacy policy.
Notifications
When your school messages you in Ward, we may also send an SMS to the phone number your school holds for you, so you don’t miss it.
Data retention
Your child’s records are kept for as long as your child is enrolled and as the school’s record-keeping requires. If you want your information removed, contact your school or email us at the address below and we will act on the school’s instruction.
Children’s privacy
Ward is used by parents and guardians, not children. Information about pupils is provided by the school and shown only to the linked parent/guardian. The school determines what is recorded and shared.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access to records is restricted per account, and payment card data is handled entirely by Paystack’s PCI-compliant checkout. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to fix issues quickly.
Your choices & rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, or ask questions about this policy, by contacting us. Because the school owns the records, some requests are fulfilled together with your school.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; we’ll change the “last updated” date above when we do.
